Lion of Asia Quality Asian Art Imports

We have traveled the African continent for over 23 years and love every aspect of that great place. But as we get older we realize there is more left to see and less time left to see it in this magnificent world we live in. So two years ago we went to Viet Nam. On my most recent trip I extended our reach into southern China and Cambodia. We want to continue to use our travels to bring you the finest, most extraordinary art objects available. We are already finding great old religious objects, both Buddhist and Christian, interesting and beautiful jewelry and textiles made and used by the ethnic minorities of the region, and all other types of furniture and decorative items used historically and in continuous use in Viet Nam and China. We haven't foresaken our African roots so we invite you to visit our first site, www.nigerbend.com . You can also visit us by appointment at our warehouse. Please contact us with any questions or comments.

Lion of Asia evolved out of our African art importing business called The Niger Bend. www.nigerbend.com I am pleased and honored to have been given the name "waraba" ("the lion" in the Bamana language) by friends with whom I've spent a lot of time doing business in Mali. There was a business with which I became familiar when I first started my African business whose name always inspired me to dream. It was called Conway of Asia. So when I began traveling in Asia I decided to call my Asian business Lion of Asia, if I may permit myself such a self indulgence. We do our best to provide a wide range of products to attract a wide range of customers. But our greatest love is discovering the one-of-a-kind, finest-quality objects of art that all the fascinating places of this great world of ours offer. Almost all of the items we sell, we have bought personally. We travel frequently to buy and to visit our old friends with whom we do business in both West Africa and Southeast Asia. It is through our many friendships that we have learned to love the peoples and cultures of the world.
